Jennifer, Coby, April and I went to Canton for the day. It was so much fun, especially since we were all kid-free for the day! My kids do not like Canton at all! It's takes a long time to get there and they think it is too much walking! So this was the first time I went, and didn't hear whining all day! April knows Canton inside and out, so she lead us to where all the good booths were. We all have been so busy, it's getting harder to get together. I'm so glad we planned this. It was
perfect, especially right after such a busy holiday season! Oh, and we got some great stuff!

Kaitlyn has always told me she NEVER wanted to get her ears pierced! I told her that it was her decision and we would never make her. Well, right before Christmas we were at the mall and walked by Claire's and she started saying "I'm ready! I want my ears pierced today!" So we went into the store and it was soooo busy with everyone doing their last minute shopping but I told her if you still want them pierced after Christmas we can go get them done but today is not a good day. She was so upset! She cried "You said it's my choice!" Honestly I thought she would change her mind the more she started thinking about it, but she didn't. So after Christmas, I took her to get them pierced. She was really excited until we got there and she got a little nervous.... but they were so fast it was over before she knew it! She was really brave! I was so proud of her. Her earrings look beautiful!

My sweet friend Coby and her husband Brian had us over for a Housewarming/Christmas Party. Their house is BEAUTIFUL!!! We had alot of fun! We were able to catch up with friends we don't see often enough! They had elk burgers that were really good! I hadn't ever triend them before. We had a cookie exchange too, which is always lots of fun because you get to take home some of all of the yummy cookies! :) We had a great night! Thanks for having us over Coby!

Shanna's Surprise Party

We were invited to our good friend Shanna's surprise party! Her husband Jason, planned the party at Main Event. We waited for her in one of the private rooms. She was so surprised, she had no idea! We ate dinner, played some games, and then went bowling! After that some people played laser tag. Kaitlyn was tall enough to play so she went with Kasey. Noah had to sit out until he grows a few more inches! Poor guy! Kasey said Kaitlyn was so funny, she caught on really quickly and most people didn't see her at first since she's shorter, but then they looked down and there she was with her little gun aiming right at them! I wish I could have seen that! We had a great evening! We hope you had a happy birthday Shanna! Thanks for including us!

Martin Family Christmas Party

Kody, April & Linzi hosted the Martin Family Christmas Party this year. They had the funnest ideas! We all wore our pajamas, and had breakfast food for dinner. Everyone was so comfy, it was great! There was a contest for the best adult houseshoes, and best kids houseshoes. Noah won with his spiderman slippers! We had a travel coffee mug exchange among the adults which turned out to be alot of fun and everyone was happy with what they got! The kids exchanged coloring books and new boxes of crayons. After the gift exchange, we all got our hot chocolate ready and loaded up into our cars to go see Christmas lights. It was alot of fun! They did a great job planning this party! Thanks guys! We had a blast!

A King Is Coming To Town

Kaitlyn and Noah were in a Christmas Play at our church called A King Is Coming To Town. They were both in the choir. They were so proud of all the practice they put into the play and were so excited that so many people in our family came to watch them perform! It was adorable! Noah said he can't wait until he is older so he can be an actor in the play! That would be interesting!!!

Kaitlyn had her first field trip in kindergarten to Dollar Tree!!! I was a little surprised when I read that is where they were going but it was actually a really good idea... they have been learning about wants vs needs the last few weeks. So they each brought $1 and could choose 1 thing from Dollar Tree, either a need or a want. It was really interesting to see what they all chose! The bow and arrows were really popular for the boys! Kaitlyn chose a bottle of aspirin! That cracked me up! All of the items they bought were donated to a local charity that helps families in our community. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad I could come along and see her with all her new school friends!

For Kasey's birthday this year we all went to Mercado Juarez for dinner. After we ate, he wanted to go to Bethlehem Revisited. It is put on by a church, it is a re-enactment of what Bethlehem would have been like when Jesus was born. There are little shops, and you can watch how they made flour, olive oil, rugs, and other things they used back then. There are lots of animals like camels, chickens, sheep. There are also Roman soldiers. Noah didn't like them at all! He told us he was going to beat them up! The people always stay in character but they interact with you as you walk by. We followed the wise men to find Joseph, Mary & baby Jesus. It was such a fun evening. We will have to go back next year!

We spent Thanksgiving with the Martins this year. We alternate years with our families since we can't be at both every year! We ate (way too much) lunch and then played games, and played outside. It was really warm so the kids played on the new swing set and rode bikes. We had a really fun day. We love our all family!

Happy Halloween! Kaitlyn decided this year she wanted to be a cat - again! She loves me drawing the whiskers and nose on her face! But I wanted her to be a really cute cat, so I made her this tutu! It was so easy, and it turned out pretty cute! And of course, Noah wanted to be the Incredible Hulk! He practically lives in this costume! He is such a little Texan - he insisted on wearing his cowboy boots! :) We went to our church's Fall Festival this year on Halloween. It was so much fun! There were lots of bounce houses, games, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting... what more could a kid ask for!?!

I was so excited when my cousin Ashley told me they were coming in from Utah for a visit! Her husband James was going to the OU/Texas game with Addison, so we had all day on Saturday to hang out. We went to my parents house to watch the game - or actually just play outside in the backyard! We haven't seen Gram since he was about 10 months old, now he is 2 1/2 and adorable! He was so funny! It was cute seeing Gram with Noah and Gabe. They had a lot of fun together! Tiffany and Jeff took the girls to see the US Gymnastic team perform in Dallas. They got dressed up, and were so excited to go! Kaitlyn had the best time! It was so good spending time with them! I can't wait until they move back to Oklahoma so we'll get to see each other more!

Kaitlyn's birthday fell on a Thursday this year so she had to go to school that day. She was so excited because they call the birthday kids name over the speaker in the mornings, and they get to go to the office for a surprise! She couldn't wait to tell everyone she was 6 that day! We all went to have lunch with her at school. She walked in proudly with her birthday crown on! That night we took her to Peter Piper Pizza. It was so much fun! They both loved all the games & prizes. It was a great way to celebrate Kaitlyn's special day!

I can't believe my little girl is turning 6! Time goes by way too fast! She wanted a Little Pet Shop party for her birthday this year. And it was our first big party at our new house, so she was proud to show her room to her friends! Who is the fastest kindergarten girl at school? Kaitlyn is! Can you tell I am a little proud?!? Kaitlyn had a run at her school. She woke up that morning and told me she was going to win, and I told her she just needs to do her best and have fun. She took off a little behind the other girls, but when they rounded the corner we saw her in the lead! She won a medal, and they had a really neat ceremony to announce the winners. We had a great time at the Homecoming Game this year! Burleson was playing Mansfield, which is where my sister and her family lived. It was funny! We all wore shirts to show our school spirit :) Kaitlyn was a little confused! She told me she was going to cheer for Mansfield since Emma goes to school there, isn't that sweet? I quickly helped her changed her mind but she just loves her cousin! We met alot of our friends there. By the end of the evening the kids were totally sugared up (we brought candy from the parade) and exhaused but we had such a fun night!

We took the kids to the Homecoming Parade downtown. It was alot of fun, definately a new tradition! Noah loved the football players! He's decided he wants to play next year! Kaitlyn loved the Homecoming Princesses. They waved as everything passed by. Alot of the people in the parade threw candy to the kids, so I told Noah to yell Hello so they would see him and Kaitlyn. He was hilarious! He was so excited he stood up the whole time, waving really fast and yelling Hello at the top of his lungs! Kaitlyn looked a little embarrassed at first, but she loved the candy being thrown to them so she didn't complain! They each left with their own bag FULL of candy! It was a really fun night!

We went to see our nephew Joel play football. He is really good! His team won 18-0! We have been wanting to come see him play for a while and this was the first game we made it to . He did great. Noah loved watching the game he just cracked up when some one got tackled! He said "ha ha that boy fell down!" It was pretty funny! He yelled "Hi Joel" for about the first 10 minutes of the game, and he didn't understand why he couldn't come sit with us! Kaitlyn told me about half way through the game we can't leave until we get to see Joel for a few minutes! So sweet! They LOVE their cousins! They got to play with him after the game for a few minutes so they were both happy! We had alot of fun!

Brittany & Doug are proud parents to the sweetest little baby, Hudson Pierce. He weighed 7 lb 14 oz and was 20.5" long. He is sooo adorable! So far, he looks like a little Doug :) Mommy & baby are doing great! I am so happy for them. They are going to be incredible parents! Brittany and I have been best friends since 9th grade. It's funny I can remember talking for hours about things like having kids and what we'd name them.... and now we're both mommies :) She's always said she wanted a boy first too. Kasey, Noah & I went to see him at the hospital after we took Kaitlyn to school. She was pretty bummed she couldn't go so I promised her we'd go visit once they were all settled at home! Can't wait! Love you guys!

Noah has been enjoying some 1-on-1 attention since Kaitlyn started school! He still seems a little lost without her. She has always made up games for them to play, and decided what they should do next. He stays pretty close to my side most of the day. We have been having fun together though. Yesterday he said "Mommy, you are my favorite girl ever" My heart melted! I hope it stays that way for a long time!

I can't believe it, but the day has finally come for Kaitlyn to start kindergarten! I thought I was prepared until last night, and then I totally lost it! I just realized how much I am going to miss her and how the house is going to seem empty without her! I knew Noah was going to miss her lots too. But she was so excited and ready to start school, so that puts my mind at ease seeing her confidence. She woke up this morning and got ready without a care in the world. She wasn't the slightest bit nervous. She told us about 10 times that she couldn't wait until recess and snack time! She went right into her classroom and sat down at her little table with no problems! We told her good-bye and then headed off to the Boo-Hoo breakfast! I'm going to miss her so much, but I'm happy to see her so excited to start school! I hope she has a great year!

Kaitlyn has been begging me for about 3 months to get bangs. But I didn't think the summer was the best time since we are always swimming and I didn't know if she'd like the feel of hair on her forehead when it's hot outside. So I told her that if she still really wanted them she could get them right before school starts. She was soooo excited! This was her first real haircut! Lauren did a great job! I think Kaitlyn looks so cute! Oh, and I decided to get bangs too!

On the last day we checked out of our rooms but still had a few hours to swim before we headed home. Kaitlyn loved these little lilly pads, you could hop from one to another. It took her a few times to get it, but then she wanted to do it over and over!

We were ready early for another day to swim! Noah loved the inside area. There were small slides and water toys everywhere for him. He wanted to stay there all day! So we'd have to take turns watching him in there, and the other could take Kaitlyn to do some of the the water slides. She loved them! She was very brave. Bekah would take her and they would go on some together. She loved getting to have Bekah all to herself! The outside was alot of fun too. There were lots of basketball goals in the shallow, fountains and other fun stuff for the kids to do.

That evening, after about 4 hours of swimming, we got cleaned up and went to Rio Mambo! That is one of our favorite restaurants! After we got back to the hotel, we went straight to bed so we'd be ready for the next day! The swimming pools stay open until 10 but our kids were ready for some sleep!

We all checked into our rooms, then quickly got ready to go swimming! The kids areas were so much fun! They were perfect for Kaitlyn & Noah especially since they can swim now. There was a lazy river and wave pool all inside! There were also some big water slides Kasey and I got to go on since David, Becky & Karey were all sweet enough to watch the kids for us while we went on them.

Kasey's parents planned a really fun get-away for us all. We went to Great Wolf Lodge! We didn't have a very long drive, but the kids were so excited they could barely sit in their seats on the way there! Our niece Bekah spent the night, and rode out with us. I can't believe my little boy is already 4!!! Noah was so excited about his birthday. He decided a long time ago he wanted a cowboy swimming party, which was very fitting since he's spent the past year in his cowboy boots! Grandma & Granddad were very sweet to let us have his party at their house! This worked perfectly because we were right in the middle of our move! We got together with friends and family to cook hot dogs, swam, then have birthday cake. It was such a fun party!

Our church had their VBS this year with Power Lab as the theme. It was so much fun! Kaitlyn has been explaining what VBS is like to Noah all year since this would be his first year to go so they were both so excited! Tiffany was sweet enough to drive Gabe and Emma out all week so the kids could all go together! They made the neatest crafts, had really good snacks, and learned about God's Power this week. For everyone who hasn't heard, we bought a new house! We weren't really looking to move but Kasey found this house and we absolutely loved it! So we called a realtor (mostly so I could be nosy and wanted to look inside!) We put our house up for sell and it sold to the first couple who looked at it! We had the best day on July 4th! For everyone who doesn't know, we are getting ready to move into another house. We have been packing and getting ready for a few weeks now, so it was nice to take a day to just relax and be with our family! We went over to my parents for a nice lunch of smoked chicken and ribs! It was great! Then we all headed out to the pool and swam for a few hours. We all love to swim! My brother Sergio was cracking everyone up with all his different dives he does! He's always so much fun to be with. We are so blessed to have such incredible families!

We have always had lots of lizards around our house! They used to freak me out but I'm kind of use d to them now! Kaitlyn is completely obsessed with bugs, lizards, worms, and that kind of stuff right now! It's kind of surprising, she is still a girly-girly but she loves bugs! She found a baby lizard in our house, so I caught him and put him in a jar so they could get a closer look. They loved him! They were trying to convince me we needed to keep him, bu t I told them he was so small he needed to go back outside and look for his mommy and they immediately agreed! But we enjoyed him for the time we spent with him!

My Dad has been going through a program through Fort Worth Police Department the last 12 weeks called CAPA - Clergy and Police Alliance. It is for ordained ministers to assist and minister to victims and police officers on some calls that may have difficult situations to deal with. I can't think of anyone better than my dad for a ministry like this! He has a way of bringing calm and reason to horrible situations. He also has a heart for people who are hurting. He has been so excited about this program, and the things he's learned. I know God will use him in incredible ways! We all were able to see him graduate, and then we celebrated at Uncle Julios!

My kids could swim every day and never get tired of it! They were so excited when I told them we were going swimming and their cousins, Emma, Gabe and Linzi were all coming too! Aunt Pam is visiting so we got to visit with her first! It was Linzi's first time to swim. She loved it!!! She splashed and kicked the whole time! Noah begged me to take off his life jacket so he could practice swimming without it and he did great! He can hold his breath forever! He preferred swimming to his Aunt Tippy more than me. So she had her hands full between him and Gabe. The girls were just all over the place! We are so glad we have a super fun place like Grandma's to meet and spend the day together!

We went to Hawaiian Falls water park for a day in the sun! The kids love it! It's perfect for their ages. Kaitlyn has been getting very brave and going down the big slides. Noah isn't quite tall enough this year but he doesn't mind! He just enjoys the small slides, fountains, and practicing swimming in the shallow. Kaitlyn's favorite is the lazy river, she could stay in there all day!

Kaitlyn can ride a bike!!! After about a month of practicing without training wheels, Kaitlyn has started riding without me hanging on the back of her bike!!! Yeah! My back was really starting to hurt! :) She is doing great! When she wants to learn something new, she practices and practices until she gets it right. I love that about her personality! Farewell Peanut

We have been thinking for about a year that we need to find a new home for our chihuahua Peanut. We have had him 6 years and love him lots. Memorial Day

My mom and dad invited us all over for Memorial Day. They smoked lots of chicken and ribs for lunch, and we swam just about all day! The kids are little water bugs! They all love to swim. Kaitlyn remembered how to swim from last summer so she was all over the pool. She was even jumping off the diving board, and swimming with her face in the water! She is so brave! Noah loves to jump off the diving board too with his lifejacket on! He says I just pop right up! Mom, Tiffany & I ran to Old Navy for their 40% off sale while the kids watched a movie with the guys. Thanks mom & dad for planning such an awesome day! We had so much fun! We love you!!!

Emma & Gabe haven't come over in such a long time! So when Tiffany asked if they could come over for a few hours while they go hear Jeff's sister sing we said of course! They boys loved building with lincoln logs and the girls wanted to have "girl time" in Kaitlyn's room. There was alot of giggling going on in there! We had mini pizzas and strawberries for dinner. Then we headed outside to jump on the trampoline and burn off some major energy and excitement! It is funny how kids voices elevate so much when they are excited! Maybe I notice this more because Kasey was asleep at the time. We came inside when they all decided they were hot and tired. I was just starting a movie for them when Tiffany and Jeff came back to pick them up. They were not ready to tell each other good-bye! So Tiffany decided it would be a perfect night for sleepovers. We packed Noah's little backpack and he put it on and said "Bye Mom" as he walked out the door like it was an everyday thing! He LOVES going to Gabe's house. But I still had to get my hugs & kisses before he left, I don't care how old he thinks he is! Kaitlyn & Emma had lots of fun together! They took baths, and then watched Barbie Island Princess! They went right to sleep after about 20 minutes of giggling. It was lots of fun having Emma sleepover and eat breakfast with us! I can't believe they are old enough to have sleepovers! Time flies by so fast!!!

The Easter Bunny left Kaitlyn & Noah a letter for a scavenger hunt to find their Easter Baskets! They had 4 clues until they found their Easter Baskets filled with some candy & Easter toys! Grandma & Granddad had a nice Easter dinner at their house. We love that they make it a priority to stop and really reflect on the true meaning of Easter! Noah decided today that Peanut didn't smell very good and needed a bath! So Kasey and Noah washed him in the sink. Noah gets so cracked up when Peanut is wet! He does look hilarious! Its always so cute when Kasey & Noah do things together. He loves his Daddy!

My parents are so sweet. They keep Kaitlyn, Noah, Emma and Gabe one day each week so Tiffany and I can work. We appreciate them so much!!! It helps us out, and gives us a little break each week. They always think of something really fun to do with the kids. They go to the park, Burger Box, the movies, jumping house, museum..... This week the Stock Show was in town and they decided to take all the kids! They absolutely loved it! Noah is very into cowboys right now so this was right up his alley! Isn't this the cutest picture?!?

Jennifer's Baby Shower

Coby, Brandi and I gave Jennifer a baby shower. It turned out great! She got alot of things she'll need for their sweet baby boy on the way! I know they are getting very excited! She looks so cute pregnant!

Fishing at Joe Pool Lake

It was such a beautiful day outside. The weather was perfect for a fishing trip! We went to eat Cousins Bar-B-Q for lunch and then drove out to Joe Pool Lake to go fishing. We have always fished with bread but today Kasey decided to buy minnows. I was expecting Kaitlyn to be in tears over using minnows! She is very into bugs, worms and that type of thing. But it really didn't bother her because she thought they were just swimming on her hook. She thought the minnows were adorable and wanted to take them home! We didn't catch anything but Kasey and the kids had fun trying! And I just enjoyed watching them :) Noah really surprised us today. Normally he is bored after about 10 minutes but today he practiced dropping his minnow in the water and reeling it back in over and over! Poor little minnow! His Daddy's & Papa's love for fishing has definately been passed down to him!
